Life as a Book
Thus, much of my story so far has been about the very first years of my existence in the world. Two centuries have passed since then. I started life as a book for young people, particularly young ladies. Later on collectors of botanical books became more interested in me. Nowadays, my text is again interesting, this time to scholars looking to gain insight into the many worlds my text intersects. My sisters are held in research libraries around the world. Myself, I was purchased for Sir George Grey Special Collections at Auckland Libraries. This passage of time has left few traces on me. Having aged so well, I am now preserved in this collection for careful, white-gloved perusal.
